I can talk.....well, type anyway. I lost my voice with this great cold I got from the boys. It was inevitable- I didn't even fight it. I kissed all over them with their slobber and all. It is so my fault. And it was so not a good idea. This cold is awful. No energy, head feels like it will explode, runny nose, stuffy nose, cough that feels like my lungs are bleeding, etc. Yesterday I barely had my voice- today not at all. I whispered to my mom on the phone this afternoon. It didn't work for long and I handed the phone to CQ.
I would like to take a minute to vent about cold medicine. Here in Oklahoma, (not sure about other states) cold medicines have changed their ingredients in order to not contain pseudophedrine. Some are available still behind the pharmacy counter- but you can only get them when the pharmacy is open and from what I hear they take your driver's license information. This is all to stop the making of meth. I guess OK has a rather large problem with meth labs. Pseudophedrine is what makes medicine WORK. It is the drug that unblocks your nose, etc. Long story short, I have tried to find some relief these past couple days. Everything I have tried has done absolutely nothing. No effect at all. I have tried 4 different cold meds. All without the pseudo stuff.
Give me back my cold medicine, Governor Henry! Meth heads are still making meth. It is not going to even slow them down. These new laws only hurt people like me, who just want some relief from a darn cold. Because basically, I will never purchase the stuff behind the counter just as a matter of principle. I REFUSE to give my personal information out in order to buy cold medicine and so the government can keep track of how much I purchase. How much am I allowed, by the way? What happens when I go over the limit? What if I need 5 boxes of Sudafed over a 6 month period???? (I have had 2 colds in 3 months!) Now I am fired up!!!!
I need to feed the boys some sweet potatoes!

No pics today. We didn't even get out of bed this morning until 10 am. The boys fell asleep last night by 8:05. They were awake at 6 am though! Q had a bowl of sweet potatoes last night. E opened his mouth for each bite but it just rolled back out. He won't swallow. We'll just keep trying!
I woke up in the middle of the night last night & couldn't breathe my nose was so stuffed up and I seemed to have kinda lost my voice. Gone are the days were I can down a large dose of Nyquil, hallucinate, and sleep off the cold. Darn, I will miss that....
So, we have had a cold, stomach bug, and RSV in their first 4 months. This means we will sail right thru the rest of the year, right?????
We are praying for our friend Amanda's friend who both read this blog. She (Rita) has been on bedrest with twins. She had them yesterday at 27 weeks, 5 days. They are a boy & a girl- Lainey and Bryce. As of the email, they were on ventilators & stable.
The boys are taking naps at different times so no nap for sick mommy! Who knows if we will ever even establish a "naptime" I am just so thrilled with 12 hours at night, that I haven't worked on day naps. Hey, I can't be on top of everything!!!!

Poor Ean woke up at 5 am this morning and couldn't breathe through his nose so he couldn't suck on his pacifier. He was MAD! I aspirated him and he screamed. I am sure his nose is sensitive. But he could breathe a little better afterwards and went back to sleep until 8.
These boys are hilarious. Ean is in his bumbo playing with a toy- eating it- and then falling asleep, and then waking back up and eating it again! Quinn just made me laugh so hard I almost peed! He is in his Bumbo, with a bunch of toys on the tray and behind him happens to be a basket filled with stuff like diapers, bibs, and soft books. He reached behind three or four times to grab a soft book until he pulled it out of the basket!!! He is SO nosy! I don't even know how he knew the basket was there!
Lots of pics today! Really all I do is post on here, take care of the boys, and take photos of them!
In other news, I haven't been to the gym since Friday. I can't take the boys because they currently violate 10 of the 100 "don't bring them to the Child Watch" rules. (insert sarcasm) (but they do have a lot) Plus, I don't feel very good myself. Yesterday and today I have felt quite "run down."
I am not sure if it is because there is not any TV because of the writer's strike, or what, but I am really into American Idol. I DVR it so I can skip all the slow parts and "we find out after the break!" stuff. I am really liking about 5 of the guys. I LOVE Michael Johns- the Australian guy. To diverge, what is it with hot Australian guys? I can name like 5 off the top of my head. (Heath Ledger!) (that Olympic swimmer guy!) (Keith Urban!) They must have something in the water down there. Also, LOST is awesome! I am trying to find out what the heck is going on! Who are the Oceanic 6 (so far- Jack, Kate, Hurley, and Sayyid) Why did they just leave all those other people who are still there waiting for rescue? It is mind boggling and everyone I know still watches it. I sometimes forget the creator of this show did Alias with Jennifer Garner and it was the same way. You never ever knew who was bad and who was good. So, I am trying to remember that show (of which I was a diehard fan!) and figure Lost out.
On to the photos........

Still sick.....

Well, we spent the whole 4 day weekend sick. It wasn't too bad since the weather was awful the whole time. Last night was a rough one. At night, both boys cough and cough. Ean's throat must hurt because he cries out when he coughs. It's sad. They both spent the night in our bed on and off. I sleep good with them in the bed, Chris does not. I told him that was hard to imagine from the way he snores.....
Some pics from the sick babies....

Ean and I reading Parenting magazine. He helps with the pages.

Q likes to stuff his bib in his mouth after eating.

Q trying to comfort E.

I'm still going to smile for Mommy's photos.

Q is not happy!

The boys are 4 and a half months old!

RSV

The boys have RSV. On Friday night, we went out to eat for Couple's Night. The boys seemed okay- a little sniffly and Quinn was coughing. But he had been coughing for 2 weeks on and off- just once in a while. By the time we got home Friday night, they were both coughing and fussing for the rest of the night.
Saturday we woke up and Ean had a temp. of 101.1. That is the highest temp he has ever had. We called the Dr and they told us to come in. (weekend hours! say fever and you are in) They said it looked like they had RSV which is described as the worst cold you have ever had. It is REALLY going around here. The absentee rate at school is 40%! For kids under 6 months, RSV can put them in the hospital if their breathing gets labored. (From what I have been told) Since it is a virus, there is nothing to do except treat the symptoms. We have been giving Ean Tylenol every 4 hours. It seems to help. He seems like he is in pain! He has the horrible cough, a blocked nose (that won't aspirate) runny gooey eyes, just really pitiful......He has been sleeping for the last 2 days constantly. He wakes to eat and lay around for 15-20 min and then back to sleep. He threw up this morning, but hasn't since, so we are just riding it out.
I have a horrible sore throat, but I am trying to ignore it and maybe it will go away.........
Needless to say, we missed church this morning. I am worried that the boys are contagious and we probably are too!! No point in getting everyone else sick! But we did miss the first of our new Lent series and I offered to lead in 2 weeks!
